While my fondest memories in life will always be working alongside my family, I knew at a young age that I was destined for a career in real estate. While obtaining my business degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I became a real estate broker at the age of twenty and never looked back. My wife and I have used Derrick twice now to sell our homes and twice to purchase new homes (with a 9 year gap between). Each transaction was done with a high level of expertise, from supporting us with the finding the right home, to advising us on how to make an informed and thoughtful offer, to pricing our home correctly and marketing it strategically to get buyers for showings, to evaluating offers, to getting through the tedious process of the due diligence period. Buying and selling a home is stressful even in the best of circumstances but with Derrick there is never a time that he was not there to support, guide, educate, and advise us - all while offering humor and reassurance along the way. Derrick was awesome. Either had an answer for all my questions, or knew where to get them. Reasonable, patient, and essentially always available by call or text. Derrick let us form our own opinions when looking at new properties and was always handy with advice and recommendations when asked or needed. I especially appreciated his candor. Derrick always set realistic expectations for both the selling of our old property and the purchase of our new home, and worked quickly and thoroughly despite being most likely incredibly busy with other things. He also didn't mind our youngest son following him around when looking at properties like a little duckling.

I contacted Mr. Lasley through USAA, and he proved to be the best Real Estate professional I worked with (I bought and sold houses numerous times due to military move). He was courteous and superior in every aspects of home buying experience. As I am in the military, my husband and I had to buy a house from 3000 miles away with no friends in the NC area; however, Mr. Lasley coordinated every aspects of buying a house seamlessly (prompt response, inspection, escorting my husband during pre-purchase visits, taking the video after seller complied with repairs, etc.). Even after closing of the house, Mr. Lasley assisted us by maintaining and inspecting house periodically until my family's arrival to NC. I strongly recommend him as your real estate agent!!

Derrick is hands down the best realtor I have ever worked with. My wife and I relocated from Boston to Raleigh and were referred to Derrick. From the get go he was extremely helpful. We had found some houses online we liked that we wanted to see. Before we were even able to make a trip down, Derrick went to all of the houses and recorded video walkthroughs with commentary on the houses and sent them to us. Once we visited and found the house we ultimately purchased, Derrick was an excellent advocate and negotiator throughout the process. He helped us craft an offer that allowed us to go under contract to purchase before our house in Boston was even on the market. Whenever we needed anything Derrick was there to assist throughout the entire process. I will never use another realtor to buy or sell a home in the Raleigh area and would highly recommend him.
